The circadian rhythm is a natural process that regulates the sleep-wake cycle over a period of roughly 24 hours, driven by a biological, circadian clock[1]. Continued disturbances to this rhythm can result in health problems related to metabolic disorders. Furthermore, there are a number of circadian rhythm sleep disorders that itself disrupt the normal 24 hour cycle[2].
