books on time series analyses[edit source]

Which of these books best for me (N of 1) https://stats.stackexchange.com/questions/20514/books-for-self-studying-time-series-analysis - User:DG

phew, that's a hard question, I haven't read any of these, so I'm not really familiar with the topic either. I remember this blog post about time series analyses which also links an online course I think, maybe that's a good start? - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 12:38, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

those apps and devices look interesting[edit source]

Could you make them into links so they appear on wanted page? DG (talk)

thanks DG, I added the red links to missing pages! - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 08:25, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

personal precision medicine page[edit source]

I am not qualified, you or Mad should make one DG (talk)

several talks are missing[edit source]

https://wiki.openhumans.org/wiki/List_of_Interesting_Self-Tracking_Results

Hey DG, I had a look and guess you refer to the talk by Nick Winter that's on that page? We haven't imported this one as it is not 'published' on the Quantified Self website. So far we have only imported those talks that are available in the Show&Tell archive on the QS website and have not imported all the ones that are currently 'just' on Vimeo. But we are considering doing a bulk import of those in the future as well. - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 15:08, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

most popular news as context for Notebooks[edit source]

Idea. May have mentioned before. not related to wiki. several sources recommend personal experiences / lifelogging to provide context for time series plots. You have made an analyze google searches notebook but I do not want to give such private info. Could you allow anyone to have access to Google Trend's most popular searches? DG (talk)

I don't think Google offers a proper API for the Google Trends. I know there's at least one third-party API (which I guess scrapes the data somehow) but I haven't tried that. Do you have any experience in trying that one out? - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 07:17, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_21st_century Pick the ones people will be sure to remember, things the are about, have a vote?. https://googletrends.github.io/data/ also but i have not found the perfect dataset. DG (talk) 03:17, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for fixing the pages I wrote.[edit source]

Thank you the diet tacking tools page looks better. DG (talk)

No problem, I went through all tool pages yesterday to check whether they have the 'lead' sentence before the first heading as the plugin that provides the hover overlay over links uses that to show where links lead to, and thought it would be nice to improve some pages while doing that! - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 12:15, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Most interesting pages,[edit source]

https://wiki.openhumans.org/wiki/Special:MostLinkedPages probably based on number show and tell talks mentioning them I think this a good place to send beginners (like from getting started) and also these seem like the pages that most should be of good quality. Stress is a stub by the way.

That's a good idea, also a good way to see which pages we might want to prioritize for fleshing out! I'll make a potential todo on the brainstorming page - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 10:05, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

advice on sources to reference from[edit source]

If I remember correctly Mad asked for me to add sources to the https://wiki.openhumans.org/wiki/Reasons_for_and_against_self_tracking_and_quantification . How can I tell if a source is good or not? Keywords to net search or resources would be great. DG (talk) 06:23, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

I think all the references you already added are great. I don't think it all needs to be necessarily be highly academic citations, I think for some of the reasons for/against self-tracking the QS subreddit or forums etc. will be just fine. Otherwise it's hard to say which keywords to use, as the page is so diverse! - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 09:23, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks. It is good to hear. Show and tell talks would be good sources too? DG (talk) 20:55, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
Yes, I think those would make a great source to reference! - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 07:20, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

I need a cool example of Google location maps on OH[edit source]

I need a cool example of Google location maps on OH. There is a post on reddit I want to make and navigating to such a page turns out to be really hard.DG (talk) 00:46, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

I'm not sure we have any Google Location History examples available! Having said that: The Overland maps should work just as well, e.g. https://exploratory.openhumans.org/notebook/87/ is a simple example. And https://exploratory.openhumans.org/notebook/126/ can work for interactive maps. - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 10:11, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
Great https://exploratory.openhumans.org/notebook/87/ its got a picture! the other one does not... should it? DG (talk) 16:19, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
Nope, the other one doesn't include a picture as the interactive map can't render in the static HTML as it's all JavaScript based. But I could take a screenshot if you like! - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 16:51, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, no. Could you critique edit review https://wiki.openhumans.org/wiki/Travel please? DG (talk) 23:59, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
Great, just did a small pass over it for formatting! - Gedankenstuecke (talk) 13:57, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
